The "Green line" was the dividing line that, during the civil war in Beirut, separated the two opposing Christian and Muslim factions. The name referred to the colour the road surface seemed to become of, due to the growing shrubs and plants through the asphalt. I personally visited the architectural skeletons on both sides of the road, still bearing the mark of the waylaid snipers' bullet holes. Man's actions are often incomprehensible. The only certainty is that from any human error there will be a flower growing, to herald an end and to welcome a new start. There is always a different way of doing things, and a flower knows it.
