Born in Copenhagen, Arne Jacobsen received a bricklayer training before studying architecture at the Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen where he graduated in 1927. In 1930 he created his own studio that he directed until his death in 1971. He is both an interior designer, designer of furniture, textiles and ceramics, and professor of architecture at the Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen. His most famous projects are "S.T. Catherine's College" in Oxford and the hotel "SAS" in Copenhagen.
