Folke Jansson
Sculptor, painter, ceramist, Folke Jansson has carried out his research in the field of visual arts and plastic, giving an original mark to the Scandinavian culture. In furniture manufacturing he has developed a prototype of a chair whose formal complexity had required three-dimensional tests. The Wincranz Company, starting from a model in metal and papier-mâché made by the author, built the first Arabesk and presented it at the Salone del Mobile in Gothenburg in 1955. The product had a considerable success with critics and audiences and opened a fertile period dedicated to the design of furniture for the same company.
