Piero Fornasetti

Piero Fornasetti was born in Milan in 1913. In 1930 he enters the Academy of Brera (Milan) to study drawing and he exhibits during the Sixth Triennale a bronze pillar and a ceramic panel in archaic style. In 1940 he encounters Giò Ponti and he draws “I Lunari”, commissioned by Ponti. In 1951 he creates in cooperation with Giò Ponti the first example of complete interior design for “Casa Lucano”. He exhibits the pieces of furniture from the series “Architettura” during the Ninth Triennale of Milan. From 1955 to 1958 he creates the “Stanza Metafisica”. From 1970 he manages the “Galleria dei Bibliofili”, where he exhibits his works. Since 1989 his son, Barnaba brings ahead the tradition of the father Piero, died in 1988. To Fornasetti were dedicated shows and exhibitions all over the world.
