The Department of Architecture (DIDA) is one of the organizational articulations of the University of Florence (UNIFI). It performs functions of coordination of scientific research and of teaching and training activities, in close connection with the School of Architecture, which instead coordinates the more properly didactic activities. The Dida has administrative autonomy and expenditure and its own internal regulations.
The new Department of Architecture DIDA identifies its scientific and training field in the culture and science of the project, intended as a synthesis between aesthetic-humanistic, technical-scientific and economic-organizational dimensions.
Research is one of the most fascinating and complex sectors of the scientific world, an instrument of human progress and with enormous repercussions on the development of society and the territory.
It is on the basis of this that the Department of Architecture, within the University of Florence, becomes one of the fundamental organizational structures for the exercise of research, teaching and training activities and for the transfer of knowledge and innovation.
The Department of Architecture DIDA has activated within it a Communication Area that operates within the Institutional Communication and Publishing Commissions. The idea arises from the awareness of the growing importance of communication addressed to the people who work within the Department and to the more open to the outside, addressed to the territory, to the community, to the other Universities and to the various international interlocutors.
The educational project of the Department of Architecture DIDA is completed with the Doctorate of Architecture and with specialization courses and masters of I and II level that play a fundamental role in the training of people able to fit into the profession and research and to contribute to progress cultural, social and economic in Italy and in the world.
