The Bitossi family has been producing ceramic art, at least since 1871. Guido Bitossi in 1921, heir to the tradition of pottery, formed the "Artistic Majolica Manufactory" with typical craftsmanship of the place. The traditional production is renewed thanks to the artistic direction of Aldo Londi, creative and aesthetic of innate sense, attentive to the evolution of style. The co-operation with the architect Ettore Sottsass, who will work for many years closely with Aldo Londi will be very important for the company. Together they will create successful collections. Bitossi Ceramiche, located today in Montelupo Fiorentino, in the place of origin, still attract major designers, fascinated by the historical value of the company and of the traditional craftsmanship' of the productions. Among the best known are: Matteo Thun, Arik Levy, Karim Rashid, Ginevra Bocini, Piero Fornasetti, Marco Zanini, Fabio Novembre, Natalie du Pasquier, Cedric Ragot.
