Fuorisalone 2021, what we loved the most

After the forced hiatus of 2020, the Salone del Mobile is back. And it's in better shape than ever. That this would be a special edition was clear from the inauguration. From Marco Mengoni's moving performance and his wish that normality will soon return.
We have been to the Salone del Mobile 2021 and its Fuorisalone. Here's what won us over.
News from our customers
Designed by Milan-based studio Calvi Brambilla, Pedrali's stand is inspired by the concept of the "Wunderkammer" (chamber of wonders). A terracotta-coloured line crosses the wall, articulating a storytelling made of videos, portraits and products. There are many new products dedicated to the office and home office, hospitality, garden and home. We loved the Temps low back task chair and the Arki-Table adjustable desk, with its adjustable shelf and sound-absorbing panel. And then the Babila XL armchairs, the Twist lounge chair and the first collections in recycled plastic (50% from industrial plastic waste and 50% from post-consumer plastic waste).
Colourful and at times playful, the S-CAB installation is a hymn to playfulness and lightness. We had fun imagining these accessories in a garden or on a terrace. And the effect was extraordinary!
The Medallion Chair revisited
In 1947, Dior wanted the Medallion Chair to accommodate his clients at the legendary 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris. Now, this Louis XIV chair has been revisited by 17 design stars and exhibited at Palazzo Citterio. The designers were chosen by the Maison Dior itself. An extraordinary combination of fashion and design.
Carpets by cc-tapis
They look like paintings, delicate and abstract, but they are carpets by the French company cc-tapis. The showroom in Piazza Santo Stefano is celebrating its tenth birthday with Patricia Urquiola, Belgian duo Muller Van Severen and Italian artist Edoardo Piermattei. The result? Pure art.

Transparent balloons at the Brera Botanical Garden
Inside the Brera Botanical Garden, "Natural Capital" shows the CO2 captured and accumulated by the various species in the garden and the risks posed by deforestation (one of the main causes of the increase in CO2 in the atmosphere). A thought-provoking Instagram spot.
Toiletpaper in a fairytale location
Toiletpaper, the magazine founded by Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari, chose the splendid Cozzi municipal swimming pool for its site-specific installation "Be Water" (produced in collaboration with Desigual). The view is incredible.
The inflatable lawn a stone's throw from the Duomo
A giant inflatable meadow in which to lose yourself: this was Gufram's idea to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its iconic Pratone. Undoubtedly one of the most loved things by children at this Salone del Mobile 2021.
