New Pedrali's futuristic warehouse: "Blades of grass"

On Thursday, the 22th September 2016, it was inaugurated “Fili d’erba” (“Blades of grass”), Pedrali’s new automated warehouse, designed by CZA- Cino Zucchi Architetti, and located in the production site of the italian furniture company in Mornico al Serio, Bergamo. It’s a fully automated building, working 24/24h, strongly related to the environmental context. All four sides of the new warehouse are faced by panels in natural aluminum colour, on which a series of simple elements in extruded aluminum profiles generates a visual combination of vertical and oblique lines, like gigantic "blades of grass" that give rhythm, scale and measure to the blind and unarticulated surface of the facades.
The warehouse also received a special mention, the “Green Company Award”: this prize, promoted by Arketipos, the Bergamo District Council and Confindustria Bergamo, in collaboration with ABITARE magazine, aims to promote a landscape culture, influencing the way buildings are constructed, and improving the quality of life.
