Tulip, the new trend is a ceramic top

The new Tulip tables with ceramic tops have arrived and we are already in love with them. That's why, today, we want to tell you the story of this extraordinary piece of furniture.

The inspiration for the Tulip Collection comes from the work of Eero Saarinen, a Finnish architect and designer naturalised American who - between the 1940s and the 1950s - created true masterpieces. With the desire to tackle the "ugly, confused, restless world" of chair and table legs, Saarinen conducted a long design investigation that resulted in the birth of Pedestal. This collection also included the Tulip chair with its goblet shape and single central stem. This chair was conceived as a complement (and completion) of the Tulip table, which was the first to be created with the intention of eliminating the base and its legs. Saarinen first made a scale model, suitable for a doll's house, and then a real piece of furniture that today comes in infinite varieties: oval, round, extendable, with a Carrara marble top, in liquid laminate, in solid wood.

The version with a 20 mm ceramic top is the latest evolution of the Tulip table. It is available in:
