Duccio Maria Gambi was born in Florence in 1981).Trained between Radical Design and Milanese architecture, grown through multiple and heterogeneous experiences and professional exchanges in Rotterdam and Paris, Duccio approaches Design from multiple directions. In his projects for galleries, fashion brands and private commissions of custom-made furniture, he maintains a research-storytelling approach in which each work is a momentary reflection in an endless research on structures, materials, processes, which he carries out in his atelier and studio in Florence. Her work is as heterogeneous as the broad path she explored before opening her studio and workshop in Paris in 2012.

An abiding interest in waste materials and contacts with French architects active in public installation led him to co-found 'Chapitre 0', a guerrilla-style furniture workshop for public spaces. His work, often focused on concrete casting and experimentation, ranges from custom-made furniture for private clients to unique research projects for design galleries and site-specific interventions. His work in stone and plastic laminate won the Cedit prize at Miart 2017 and is now part of the permanent collection at the Triennale Design Museum. He now lives in his hometown of Florence.

He has a strong theoretical background built up during his studies in the milieu of the Radical Movement in Florence and during his years as an interior design student in Milan. He is aware of both industrial and craft constraints and potentialities thanks to his work experiences in design studios and workshops. In particular, he mastered a variety of creative production processes, in a wide range of scales, during a pivotal one-year experience working at Atelier Van Lieshout in Rotterdam.
