Patrick Jouin

Patrick Jouin was born in Nantes, France, in 1967. After graduating he worked for Thomson multimedia under the artistic direction of Philippe Starck.

In 1998 Jouin founded his agency in the 11th arrondissement of Paris and in 1999 he met Alain Ducasse

Patrick Jouin was born in Nantes, France, in 1967. After graduating he worked for Thomson multimedia under the artistic direction of Philippe Starck.

In 1998 Jouin founded his agency in the 11th arrondissement of Paris and in 1999 he met Alain Ducasse with whom he collaborated in the design of many restaurants, including the "Alain Ducasse" at the Plaza Ateneo, "Be bakery-drugstore" in Paris and the "Mix restaurant" in New York.

Jouin stands out for his desire to reinvent industrial culture: in his work he chooses forms derived from mass industry - blast furnaces, turbines, chimneys, moulds, forges - and integrates them into the world of luxury.

He won the ADI Compasso d'Oro in 2011 with the Pasta Pot designed for Alessi.
