Sandi Renko was born in Trieste in 1949.

He studied at the Istituto d'Arte Nordio, including artists such as Miela Reina, Enzo Cogno and Ugo Carà among his masters.

In the '70s he moved to Padua, where he caught the cultural ferment of avant-garde artistic currents.

He took part in group exhibitions, happenings and events of the moment, devoting himself mainly to programmed art and opart.

In the following years his attention is oriented towards design and industrial planning. He established himself in the furniture and furnishing accessories sector, collaborating with many companies. At the same time he devoted himself to graphics and art direction, participating in various design exhibitions and cultural events. His works are the result of a path started at the end of the 60s in the field of programmed art and optical art. He uses as work surface simple corrugated cardboard treated with acrylic colours. It is the vertical lines, readable from various angles, that give life to the images. The sculptures, the key to his two-dimensional works, have the appearance of plots that break up and unfold in space with rhythmic and geometric regularity.
