CIRANO - flavoured water extractor
Designer R&D Blueside
- 100% Made in Italy -
Cirano, the archetype of flavoured water extractors.
The shape of this flavoured water distiller is inspired by the great nose of the famous 'Cyrano de Bergerac'. Our glass still has been crafted in strict adherence to the shapes devised by alchemical experimenters as far back as 1300. Cirano is the ideal producer of aromatised waters based on essential oils that can be extracted hot with water from any flower or medicinal plant among those considered beneficial for the person. It is the ideal appliance for researchers in the haute cuisine and bartending sectors to create their own aromatic blends. Cirano is also a home furnishing object that stimulates people to approach the wonderful world of essential oils and their precious virtues.
Guide to use
- Pour water into the reactor;
- Place the plants inside the reactor and close it with the cooling 'dark brown' lid with an extension for collecting the distillate hydrolate;
- Switch on the electric or infrared hotplate at minimum power;
- When the temperature reaches about 40/50°C, the steam will start to rise, carrying with it the essential oils extracted from the plants. Evaporation must take place over a very long period of time and the water must never boil to avoid degradation of the essential oils (as they are thermolabile);
- The vapour mixed with essential oils will be cooled in the condensation chamber and transformed into hydrolate or aromatised water and slowly dripped into a borosilicate glass collection flask;
- At the end of the distillation process, deactivate the plate to prevent the water inside the reactor from evaporating completely, causing a risk of thermal shock due to excessive overheating of the glass with consequent risk of glass breakage
- Recover the hydrolate inside the flask and use it according to the required applications.
Material: borosilicate glass 3.3
