The 'Reef' armchair, with its bright colours and light spirit, is the first 100% sustainable armchair. The padding is composed of recycled polyurethane foam derived from the agglomeration of bulky waste (sofas, mattresses) and production waste from the furniture and textile industries. The second material used for padding is thermo-bonded polyester fibre wadding consisting of at least 70% polyester fibre obtained from recycled white post-consumer polyester containers. But the innovation also lies above all in the fabric with which the 'Reef' is upholstered. Created entirely from post-consumer recycled plastic, from plastic debris floating in our seas and from plastic bottles destined for landfill, this particular covering was made in conjunction with SEAQUAL, the community that fights marine pollution by cleaning up plastic. For each 'Reef' produced, in fact, over 100 plastic bottles recovered from the sea are used, contributing concretely to the mission of cleaning up the earth and the oceans. The green DNA of the 'Reef' armchair continues in the wooden structure, which is FSC® certified (FSC-C002023): The label identifies products containing wood from forests that are managed correctly and responsibly according to strict environmental, social and economic standards.
