Era: essential oil extractor with a mythological name...

We can also link this name to a time period, an era, the era of green, of the rediscovery of nature and man's ability to enhance plant species and its beneficial and nutraceutical principles. Our 'epoch' marks the beginning of a new era in food, drink and aromatherapy, and thanks to the Era extractor, it is possible to explore and obtain very fine aromas based on pure essential oils. This is the new backbone of lost natural flavours. Era works transparently because it is made of borosilicate glass; its use is extremely simple even for amateur use. The Era essential oil extractor has very ancient origins and uses the technique of steam distillation. This technique allows the extraction of essential oils found in flowers, leaves, roots, woods and berries. It is therefore possible to use Era for all fresh and dried plants whose oil can be extracted in a steam current.

Guide to use:

- Pour water into the reactor until it touches the metal grid inside;

- Place the plants on top of the grid inside the reactor, close the lid and place the condensation and collection glassware on top;

- Activate the glass cooling circuit with running water;

- Switch on the electric or infrared heating plate and wait for the water to simmer slightly (avoid tumultuous boiling);

- When the temperature reaches about 100°C, the steam will start to rise and as it passes through the plant, it will carry the essential oils in it with it. The steam mixed with essential oils will be cooled in the condensation chamber and transformed into hydrolate or aromatised water inside the glass burette;

- At the end of the distillation process, deactivate the plate to prevent the water inside the reactor from evaporating completely, causing a risk of thermal shock due to excessive overheating of the glass with consequent risk of glass breakage;

- The liquid obtained will accumulate in the final ampoule of the burette where the separation of the essential oil from the hydrolate takes place: this process is relatively simple, given that the essential oil is lighter than water and tends to remain on the surface;

- First recover the hydrolate then the essential oil through the tap located at the bottom of the burette.
